To give an example: In building operationthe aim is to reduce energy demand by implementing high energy standards, tosupport the remaining demand by using effective technology and to generate the necessary electricity and heat energy regeneratively, for example by using photovoltaics and heat pumps.

However, it is not just a matter of operating real estate in a way that conserves resources.

That is why we take a holistic view of our real estate projects, taking a critical look at the resource consumption resulting from the construction of our buildings and its associated emissions, the so-called "grey energy".

By consciously reducing building mass, implementing slim constructions and using climate-positive materials such as wood, we want to achieve our ambitious climate and resource targets as quickly as possible. A life cycle assessment based on BIM data will support us in this endeavor.

A transparent energy monitoring provides more transparency for our customers. In addition, multimodal mobility concepts are intended to pave the way to an easier and more sustainable way of life.

Every real estate project at Bauwens is individual. In order to effectively implement our vision of ecologically, economically and socially sustainable projects, we work with interdisciplinary teams on the combination of effective sustainability measures in pilot projects at a very early stage of development and planning.

With the pilot projects, we want to take concrete responsibility for meeting the increased sustainability requirements of the market. Our future projects aim to meet the dynamics of the EU Green Deal, EU taxonomy and disclosure regulations, as well as to fulfil the increased ESG requirements of the financial market.
