4. Data collection on our website
Cookies
Some of the Internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies." They are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser when you next visit our website.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Cookies that are necessary for the electronic communication process or for the provision of certain functions you have requested (e.g., shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g., cookies for analyzing your surfing behavior) are stored, these are treated separately in this privacy policy.
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- operating system
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be collected.
Contact
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
The data entered in the contact form will therefore be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. To do so, simply send us an informal email. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for which it was collected no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Enquiries by email, telephone or fax
If you contact us by email, telephone, or fax, your request, including all personal data arising from it (name, request), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, provided that your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in the effective processing of the requests sent to us.
The data you send us via contact requests will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for which it was collected no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
Processing of data (customer and contract data)
We collect, process, and use personal data only to the extent necessary for the establishment, content, or modification of the legal relationship (inventory data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process, and use personal data about the use of our website (usage data) only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill for it.
The customer data collected will be deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
5. Analysis tools and advertising
Matomo (formerly Piwik)
This website uses the open source web analytics service Matomo. Matomo uses so-called "cookies." These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. For this purpose, the information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is stored on our server. The IP address is anonymized before storage.
Matomo cookies remain on your device until you delete them.
The storage of Matomo cookies and the use of this analysis tool are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymous analysis of user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will not be passed on to third parties. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.
If you do not agree to the storage and use of your data, you can deactivate the storage and use here. In this case, an opt-out cookie will be stored in your browser, which prevents Matomo from storing usage data. If you delete your cookies, this will also delete the Matomo opt-out cookie. The opt-out must be reactivated when you visit our site again.
Google Analytics for Firebase
(https://firebase.google.com/)
The data collected helps us to better understand how the app is used and to improve our offering. All IP addresses are stored in anonymized form only. Therefore, the data obtained cannot be used to identify individual users. Firebase Analytics uses an advertising ID. You can restrict this use in the device settings of your mobile device.
For Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID
For iOS: Settings > Privacy > Advertising > No Ad Tracking
Further information on Google Firebase and data protection can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
LinkedIn Insights
The LinkedIn Insight tag enables the collection of data about visits to our website, including URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser characteristics (user agent) and timestamps. IP addresses are shortened or (if used to reach members across devices) hashed. Members' direct identifiers are removed within seven days to pseudonymize the data. This remaining pseudonymized data is then deleted within 180 days.
LinkedIn does not share any personal data with Bauwens, but only provides reports and notifications (in which you are not identified) about the website audience and ad performance. LinkedIn also offers retargeting for website visitors, allowing Bauwens to display targeted information outside its website using this data without identifying the member. LinkedIn also uses data that does not identify you to improve the relevance of ads and reach members across devices. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes in their account settings.
6. Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require your email address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected or will only be collected on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.
The data entered in the newsletter registration form will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of data, your email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you provide us with for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you unsubscribe. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.
