    Düsseldorf is a city with a bright future. Our FLINGERN PUR project has made yet another contribution to the transformation of the former working-class neighborhood of Flingern. The project, developed and implemented by Bauwens, has created 127 new apartments spread across three buildings in what is now a trendy neighborhood. The architecture is integrated into a generous green space concept—the private gardens offer residents a place to retreat.

    At FLINGERN PUR, we placed the utmost importance on constructing the project according to the principle of sustainability—in ecological, economic, sociocultural, and structural terms. A central aspect is the overall energy concept for the three buildings. The buildings were constructed to the KfW-70 standard. Energy is supplied by modern heating technology in the form of a combined heat and power (CHP) plant combined with a gas-fired boiler. With this combined heat and power principle, we have significantly exceeded the requirements of the EnEV 2009. The construction project was awarded the Gold Certificate by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
