On the approximately 2-hectare site of the Schulzentrum Nord in Niederkassel-Lülsdorf, a modern and contemporary new school building with a multipurpose hall and cafeteria was completed by mid-2026.

The new complex comprised a six-track school building, a three-part multipurpose hall, and a cafeteria. The classroom expansion was realized as a three-story building featuring specially designed learning clusters. Administrative offices were also created within the building. The versatile multipurpose hall served not only as a triple-court sports hall but was also available for traditional cultural events and for use by local clubs.

A shared foyer provided access to the school cafeteria, which seats 384 and was partially designed as a two-story structure; in addition to the dining hall, it housed a modern “cook-chill” kitchen.

In addition to its educational approach, the new school building also placed high demands on a modern energy concept. The full-surface photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the school and the triple-court sports hall, as well as the use of a heat pump system and geothermal energy, made a significant contribution to energy efficiency. Outside, in addition to a new paved schoolyard with various seating and play areas and landscaping, several decentralized bicycle parking spaces and car parking spaces were also created.
