On the approximately 2-hectare site of the Schulzentrum Nord in Niederkassel Lülsdorf, a modern and contemporary new school building with a multipurpose hall and cafeteria is being constructed and is scheduled for completion by 2027.
The new complex will include a six-track school building, a three-part multipurpose hall, and a cafeteria. The classroom expansion is planned as a three-story building with specially designed learning clusters. The building will also house administrative offices. The versatile multipurpose hall is intended not only to serve as a triple-court sports hall but also to be available for traditional cultural events and for use by local clubs.
Connected by a shared foyer, the school cafeteria—with 384 seats—is partially designed as a two-story structure and houses a modern “cook-chill kitchen” in addition to the dining hall.
In addition to its educational approach, the new school building also meets high standards for a modern energy concept. The full-surface photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the school and the triple-court sports hall, as well as the use of a heat pump system and geothermal energy, will make a significant contribution to energy efficiency. Outside, in addition to a new paved schoolyard featuring various seating and play areas as well as landscaping, several decentralized bicycle parking spaces and car parking spaces will be created.
