AERA Berlin: a showcase that combines work, life, technology, and nature. The eight-story office complex in the immediate vicinity of the Spree River offers 12,000 square meters of modern office space that can be flexibly divided into up to 24 units. This innovative space concept was developed in response to the changing requirements of the working world.
The high-quality façade and flexible floor plans allow the rooms to be used individually, from law firms to start-ups. Architectural highlights include the spacious foyer with ceilings over six meters high and the continuous panoramic glazing of the conference areas at the southern tip, which is over five meters wide.
The project is rounded off by a green roof garden, which contributes to an improved urban climate. Covering a total of 2,200 square meters, it forms an impressive green backdrop above the city's rooftops. The walkable roof garden not only offers tenants a place to retreat, but also binds a total of approximately five tons of CO2 per year with its nearly 25 different plant species and trees up to 12 meters high. By integrating nature and the working world, AERA Berlin is becoming a model project for sustainable urban development.
"Our goal was to construct the green building of the future. Not just on paper or in a scoring model, but an actual green building," says Clemens Stahr, managing partner of Bauwens Development Berlin GmbH.
