Two hotels and a specialist retail store were built under the direction of Bauwens and Kauderer Konsulting at Frankfurter Ring 228 in Munich's Schwabing district. The structural work for the building, designed by OSA Ochs Schmidhuber Architekten and planned by Bauwens, began in May 2018. Three upper floors were built, providing space for more than 400 hotel rooms. The construction project created a total usable area of more than 18,100 square meters.
In the front part of the complex, the Hamburg-based Centro Hotel Group has set up a 4-star hotel under its Fourside brand to welcome travelers in 218 rooms. The rear section offers 191 rooms in a NIU hotel belonging to the Novum Hospitality Group. In addition, the car specialist A.T.U, previously located on Frankfurter Ring, has found a new home on the ground floor. To ensure relaxed parking and short distances, the building sections are connected underground by an underground car park with 140 parking spaces, while a further 60 customers and guests will be able to park outside in the future.
Bauwens installed a combined heat and power plant to supply the site with energy. The natural gas-powered CHP plant with two peak load boilers efficiently supplies the complex with heat and electricity. The project was completed in summer 2021.
