HanseMerkur Grundvermögen has purchased the northern part of Goldschmied Carrè in Cologne. The land, measuring around 3,200 square meters, is in a prime downtown location on Roncalliplatz, in the immediate vicinity of Cologne Cathedral and the main train station. The site is to be developed into an office, hotel, and commercial complex. According to current plans, the total rental space will amount to approximately 15,500 square meters.
HanseMerkur Grundvermögen has chosen the experienced Cologne-based Bauwens Group to realize the construction project. Bauwens Development will act as service developer. In addition, Bauwens Construction has been commissioned as general contractor for the realization of the first construction phase.
The building complex, consisting of several components, offers an impressive view of the cathedral, especially from the green roof terrace. In addition to office space, a hotel with over 90 rooms, retail and restaurant space, and an underground parking garage are also planned.
The Goldschmied Carrè meets high sustainability standards and will receive at least gold certification according to LEED or DGNB.
