A new mixed-use urban complex is being built on the land formerly occupied by the headquarters of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper and Frankfurter Societät in Frankfurt's popular Gallus district. Together with F.A.Z. and Frankfurter Societät, Bauwens is developing a diverse residential and commercial district on the two-hectare site.
In the near future, 540 rental apartments will be built here on a gross floor area of 82,000 square meters, 30 percent of which will be publicly subsidized. In addition, 17,000 square meters of office space and 3,500 square meters for retail and restaurants will be created.
Two daycare centers and a new school are planned on the neighboring land, complementing the family-friendly environment. The complex impresses with its well-thought-out perimeter block structure, which blends harmoniously into the existing, mature surroundings. The heart of the complex is formed by the inner courtyards with spacious gardens and recreational areas that invite residents to linger.
